To be a fly

I was born with my mother's ability
to be a fly
in a room – of my thoughts – no exit door
e x h a u s t i n g
o v e r w e l m i n g
like a universe – to a fly like me
Later I discovered my mother's ability
to land on a teddy's glass eye
grasping with my antenna
gasping in astonishment
like a moon landing – to a fly like me
